Hey, Guys and Gals! Here’s a copy of my September Prayer Letter:
Dear Friends and Family,
God blessed us with a fantastic summer of camp! Last summer was the best one I remember up till that time, and this summer was even better! A lot of this is due to the fact that God gave us a great Jr. Staff again this year. A number of them were with us last year as well, and there were some new faces too! We are so thankful for them and their enthusiasm!
This summer, 10 young men from my cabins accepted the Lord, and 3 made other decisions! A total of 76 young men and women accepted the Lord this summer, and we praise the Lord for His work! Thank you, for your prayers and support that the Lord uses to make the work of Youth Haven Bible Camp possible!
I would like to share a few stories from the summer, to encourage you who pray for me and support me financially. You are my co-laborers in the ministry, so these stories are your stories too!
The first day of teen camp, a young man walked up to me. “Excuse me, Sir,” he said. It took me a moment to realize he wasn’t a camper! “I don’t know if you remember me or not, but I used to come here to camp, and I was in your cabin when I asked the Lord to save me. I ship out over seas soon, and I just wanted to come back and say, ‘Thank you.’ I’m here bringing my little brother to camp now.” I was so glad to get to see this young man again, and see the Lord’s continued work in his life! Later that week, one of my teen campers talked to me in tears about how he needed to walk closer with the Lord. It’s always good to see a heart tender toward the Lord!
During one of our elementary weeks, I found myself talking to a small huddle of boys in my cabin. These were young men that had accepted the Lord during the week and now, a day or two later, were coming to terms with the fact that just because they were saved didn’t mean they automatically did the right thing! They wanted to know what to do when they sinned now that they were saved! Again, praise the Lord for tender hearts! What a joy to share again the hope of I John 1:9 with them and what a joy to share that obedience comes from love for God, and love for God comes from continually choosing to believe just how much He loves us! When we mess up, His love forgives, and this is a wonderful comfort and powerful motivation for obedience!
This summer I am also grateful for the release of my second CD, entitled, “Holy is He: My Psalms, My Hymns, My Spiritual Songs.” The CD is a miracle in that, although I am still raising support, the CD is completely paid for! We had the privilege of recording at my mentor, Michael Card’s studio again, and it was such an honor to have him on the CD again as well! Ron Block, a dear brother in the Lord, one of my favorite singer-songwriters, and the banjo/guitar player for the country band “Alison Krauss and Union Station,” plays banjo on the opening track. My friends John Nehlig, Brian Shind, Elizabeth Spencer, Sharon Spencer, Laura Spencer, Michael Smith, Eric Hufford, Jessica Campbell, Keith Compton, Joel Smythe and Damon Adelgren all lended a helping hand in their own special way in making this record. It was truly a community effort! One of the many special things about this album is that the title song, “Holy is He,” was co-written with R.J. Bercume, one of the young men that is on our Jr. Staff and that attends the Bear Track Bible Church youth group! The CD is available at the camp store, I-Tunes, CD Baby and my web site, “samjudd.com.”
Thank you all again for your prayers and support! If you would like to have me come to your church to sing and/or speak and present the work of KMM, please just let me know! Thanks!
In Christ,
Sam
